The Mexico City Aztecs snuck past the Long Beach Ports, 4-3, in 10 innings. Mexico City pitcher James Thomas, in particular, had a standout performance. The Aztecs saw their win-loss record go to 46-63. At the same time, the Ports fell to 54-52.

Though he didn't earn the victory, Thomas kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Mexico City offense came through. Over 8 innings, he allowed 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7.

"When James is on, he can really move the ball around," said Mexico City manager Jaime Martinez.
