David Bright, who finished 3rd in the CL in wins with 19 in 2007, propelled his team to victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. The final score was 6-4, Reno. Reno pitcher Gabriel Ordóñez earned the win, hiking his record to 1-1. Dan Williams suffered the loss. The win gives the Silver Sox a record of 6-6.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Zack McColgan came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing New Orleans pitcher Dan Williams, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Reno on top, 6-4.
"I'm happy we won," said Bright. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
