Eagles Stick Silver Sox with 6-3 Loss

Dallas and Reno duked it out and the Eagles came out victorious.
Dallas pitcher Leroy Matthews had a large part in his team beating the Reno Silver Sox, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Fred Davis, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Morris Ellem earned the save, his 5th, for the Eagles.
Ken Dudley aided the Dallas cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 4.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Dudley told the Dallas Daily News.
Dallas sits in 5th place in the Pioneer League South at 53-58.
