Brown 5-for-5 for San Francisco

After a 5-hit effort to lead San Francisco's 8-0 victory over the Las Vegas Strip, first baseman Jeff Brown told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Big Sky Baseball-level is really something special."
The 24-year-old player earned his accolades at Banditos Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Strip.
"His swing is getting there," said Seals skipper Jamming Econo, who spoke glowingly of Brown after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jeff did that to perfection."
Jeff Brown hit a two-run home run off Héctor Peña in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Roberto González in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
This season, Brown is batting .238 with 99 hits and 12 home runs. He has scored 49 times and has 48 RBI.
