The Reno Silver Sox beat the Houston Lone Stars, 8-6, at Alamo Park. Hayden Reese, who finished 3rd in the PL in runs with 98 in 2009, starred for Reno. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Leonard Burton picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Rubén Rodríguez suffered the loss. The loss drops the Lone Stars to 1-1.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Reese hit a fastball from Rubén Rodríguez for a 2-run home run. The Silver Sox, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
