The Long Beach Ports defeated the Dallas Eagles, 5-4, in Pacific Coast League action at Tapatio Park. Long Beach pitcher Johnny Clayton had a standout performance. In 5.2 innings, Clayton surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Jim Rogers got the save, his 19th in 22 chances.

Steven Nolan drove in one run against the Eagles. In the bottom of the first inning, he reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, putting Long Beach in front, 1-0.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Ports manager Jordan K.

Long Beach raised its record to 59-59 with the win.
