Eagles Suffer 3-1 Loss to New Orleans
Starting pitcher Brian Matthews did his part in helping the New Orleans Pelicans thwart the Dallas Eagles, 3-1. Getting the save was Dan Williams, his 4th. With the win, New Orleans elevates its record to 7-8.

Domingo Contreras had a big run-scoring double for the Pelicans in the bottom of the fourth inning. With New Orleans leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Cecil Rivera, who finished 2nd in the PL in innings pitched with 238.0 last year, and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pelicans ahead, 3-1.

"Our offense was purring," said New Orleans manager Day Breaker. "Like a well-oiled machine."
