The home crowd had a good time watching the Oakland Acorns and Reno Silver Sox get after it.
Starting pitcher Yoichibei Ito fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Reno Silver Sox stymie the Oakland Acorns, 4-1. Ito, now 3-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 2, walking 6, and allowing 1 run. Earning his 5th save of the year was Leonard Burton.
James Winston dealt the Acorns a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Reno leading 1-0, Winston hit a 3-0 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"We have a lot of confidence in Yoichibei," said Reno manager Zach Ames.
Reno goes to 13-17.
