The Hollywood Stars stopped the New Orleans Pelicans, 7-4, at Gilmore Field. The Stars got a big game from Ramiro López, who went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. Jaime Porcayo earned the win, while 28-year old right-handed pitcher Ray Alexander took the loss for New Orleans. David Allen closed it out for his 5th save.

José Cruz had a big solo home run for the Stars in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Hollywood leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Ray Alexander and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 4-2.

"In this profession, you've got to put the good and the bad behind you quickly," New Orleans skipper Day Breaker said.

Hollywood raised its record to 20-13 with the win.
