Denver had no answer for 29-year old right-handed pitcher Augusto Villarreal. The Salt Lake City Locusts starter stymied Grizzlies hitters, helping the Locusts cruise to victory, 9-1. Villarreal yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-1. With the win over Denver, the Locusts improved to 14-20.

Murray Keller had a big 2-run double for the Locusts in the bottom of the fourth inning.
