The Reno Silver Sox managed to get by the Austin Cowboys, 4-3, at Alamo Park. Reno pitcher Luis Reyes set himself apart with his performance. Jim Hamilton snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Rafael Infante suffered the loss. Reno is in 4th place in the Pioneer League South with a record of 16-20.

Reno took a 4-2 lead on Culley Delaney's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Delaney hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Austin pitcher Larry Barber visibly frustrated.

"It's a mindset," said Reyes. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
