Seals Pick Up 7-4 Win Against Portland
The San Francisco Seals topped the Portland Beavers, 7-4, in Pacific Coast League action at Multnomah Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Francisco pitcher Cornell Jenkins. Shawn Meyer closed out the game, earning his 1st save. The Seals raised their record to 17-19.

Had Manny Cantú not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Cantú hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Seals.

"Cornell -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Seals manager Jamming Econo. "He was the key to us winning."
