A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Reno Silver Sox and Austin Cowboys.
In a tight game between the Reno Silver Sox and the Austin Cowboys, pitcher David Bright was terrific on the mound. The Reno right-hander helped his team to the 3-1 win. In 6.1 innings, Bright surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run.
Manuel Garza, who finished 2nd in the CL in hits with 178 in 2013, aided the Reno cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"David's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Reno manager Zach Ames.
The win makes Reno 17-20.
