In a tight contest at Derks Field, the Salt Lake City Locusts edged the Minneapolis Millers by the score of 7-6. Salt Lake City right fielder Fernando Gimarey, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Mark Cahill wrapped it up, recording his 8th save. With the victory, the Locusts record stands at 17-21.

Third Baseman Murray Keller made an impact for Salt Lake City, when he swatted a grand slam home run off Darwin McCoy in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Keller was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

Gimarey told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
