The Seattle Rainiers could not turn a fine performance from first baseman Adolfo Napoleoni into a win. Instead, the San Francisco Seals prevailed, 9-7. Napoleoni was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The winner in relief was Matt Wright. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2.1 innings. Today's win puts San Francisco at 18-21, while Seattle falls to 25-13.

The Seals got a big hit from catcher José Rodríguez. In the bottom of the seventh, Rodríguez smacked a 2-run double off Seattle pitcher Rubén Espinosa. It was his 2nd double of the season. Suddenly, the Seals were ahead, 8-7.

Seals manager Jamming Econo wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
