Locusts Rally to Win, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Salt Lake City Locusts and the Austin Cowboys, Pete Howard, who is tied for 2nd in the PL with a 9.4 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. The Salt Lake City right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win in 13 innings. Salt Lake City, at 20-22, occupies 4th place in the Pioneer League North.
Murray Keller, who is on pace for 143 RBI this season, had a direct impact on the outcome. Keller contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 13th inning to put Salt Lake City up, 3-2.
"Pete showed what he's made of," said Salt Lake City manager Nate McGinty.
