Breakers Earn 6-2 Win Versus Seattle
At Sick's Stadium, the Seattle Rainiers and San Diego Breakers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The San Diego Breakers earned a win at Sick's Stadium, stopping the Seattle Rainiers, 6-2. Starting pitcher Bobby McCarthy played a big role in his team's success. The winning pitcher was McCarthy, now 3-4. He tossed 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4.

San Diego used a clutch at-bat from Roger Pitts to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Breakers ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We didn't play well enough to win," Seattle skipper Ulrath Unclean said.

The Breakers are now 22-26.
