Phoenix turned a fine outing from starter Cristo Richardson into a victory over the New Orleans Pelicans at Higgins Park. The final score was 3-2. Dan Conway closed the door for Phoenix, picking up his 8th save of the year. With the win, Phoenix upped its record to 27-23.

Kevin Lyons came through with a big-time hit for Phoenix. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Lyons called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
