Kansas City right fielder Mike Ruíz picked up 4 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Minneapolis Millers, 7-6. Kansas City reliever Mario Encarnación picked up the win, upping his record to 6-5. Darwin Madden absorbed the loss. Kansas City now has a record of 72-54 with the win.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 6-6, 24-year old right-handed pitcher Xu-gang Lau won it for Kansas City. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Lau hit a 2-1 fastball from Darwin Madden for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 7-6 win.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Ruíz.
