The Los Angeles Angels topped the Sacramento Ironhorse, 6-2, with youngster Joe Jackson playing a key role. Jackson was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Angels in the win. Jorge González snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 2 innings. He's now 5-6 on the season. Los Angeles is now 61-65. Sacramento is 64-61.
Jackson had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch curveball from David Williams, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Angels a 6-2 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Jackson.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Jackson.
