The rain came, as predicted, but the Portland Beavers and San Francisco Seals were able to complete their ballgame.

The Portland Beavers cut down the San Francisco Seals by the score of 8-0, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder Jim Poole. Poole belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Beavers. Will Moore was credited with the save, his 2nd in 5 tries.

Portland used a clutch at-bat from Mike Williams to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Beavers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Nice win for us," said Williams. "Now we'll go after the next one."

With the win, Portland upped its record to 70-57.
