Eagles Get Past Houston, 4-3
|
The Eagles grabbed a win, 4-3, at Burnett Field, overcoming a fine effort from Houston pitcher Larry Adams. Adams went 5.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. Dallas pitcher Mark Ervin got the win. He's now 1-1. Juan Rodríguez was tagged with the loss. The Eagles move to 65-71 with the win, while the Lone Stars drop to 77-60.
Dallas took a 4-3 lead on Eric Ford's 17th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Ford hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Houston pitcher Juan Rodríguez visibly frustrated.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Ford told the Dallas Daily News.
