Owls Deal Seals 5-1 Defeat
|
San Jose Owls starter Jason Stewart pitched well against the San Francisco Seals at Ohlone Park, leading his team to a win, 5-1. The save went to David Gómez, his 10th this season. San Jose is now 31-24.
Pat McCord had a big 2-run double for the Owls in the top of the fourth inning. With San Jose leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a slider from Edgardo García, who led the CL in strikeouts with 353 last year, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Owls ahead, 4-0.
McCord said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
