Reno Silver Sox starter Ed Beck pitched his team past the New Orleans Pelicans, 4-2, in 10 innings. Reno reliever Gabriel Ordóñez picked up the win to move to 5-1. Dan Williams suffered the loss. Leonard Burton wrapped it up, recording his 14th save.

Reno needed the clutch hitting of Dave Shaffer to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Silver Sox on top, 4-2. For the game, Shaffer had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.

After the game, Reno manager Zach Ames applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

With the win, Reno goes to 31-27, while the Pelicans fall to 29-28.
