Locusts Absorb 5-4 Loss at Nicollet Park
The timely hitting of Fred Aplin helped the Minneapolis Millers down the Salt Lake City Locusts, 5-4. Aplin went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Millers. Darwin McCoy got the win, improving to 7-11. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. Dirk Veeck got the save, his 1st in 1 chances.

The Millers got a big at-bat from second baseman Chris Ruhl. For the game, Ruhl was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 3-1 lead.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Ruhl.
