The Phoenix Fireballs and New Orleans Pelicans completed their game despite the inclement weather.

The Phoenix Fireballs beat the New Orleans Pelicans, 4-2, at Higgins Park. Phoenix first baseman José Alarcon had the hot bat. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2. Francisco Rivera, credited with the save, is now 9 for 16 in save opportunities.

Phoenix used a well-timed hit by Juan Guzmán to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Fireballs ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Phoenix manager Jarien Smith was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.

The triumph puts Phoenix at 77-73 for the season.
