Mexico City Aztecs starter James Thomas hurled his team past the Portland Beavers, 3-2. Thomas picked up the win for Mexico City, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 5-5. The last-place Aztecs improved to 26-34.
Richard Combs drove in one run for Mexico City. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Riley Green. It was his 6th RBI of the season.
