Tate hits 2 home runs to Fuel Beavers Offense
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Portland Beavers and New Orleans Pelicans.

The Portland Beavers topped the New Orleans Pelicans, 10-5, in Pacific Coast League action at Multnomah Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Portland shortstop Ray Tate. Francisco Leal was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts.

The fans who came to support the Beavers were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at Multnomah Stadium.

"When you win, you always have confidence," said Portland skipper Pete Donut. "Nobody likes to lose. Losing is a downer. That's how we look at it. It's always good to win."

Portland is 27-34 and New Orleans, with the loss, 30-30.
