Seals Shut Out Owls, 6-0
|
Getting offensive support from Manny Cantú, the San Francisco Seals topped the San Jose Owls, 6-0. Cantú went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Seals. San Francisco reliever Jorge Garza picked up the win. Miguel Valedón, who is tied for 4th in the CL with a 9.0 K/9 rate, took the loss for San Jose. The third-place Seals improved to 32-30.
Early in the game, Cantú had a 2-run home run for San Francisco. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Seals on top, 2-0.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Cantú told the San Francisco Today.
