Sacramento Ironhorse starter Arthur Wise pitched a strong game against the Salt Lake City Locusts at Ironhorse Stadium, leading the Ironhorse to victory, 8-2. The winning pitcher was Wise, now 7-3. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. After today's action, Sacramento sits at 38-25, while Salt Lake City falls to 31-29.
The Locusts had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Ironhorse going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Alan Maitland came to the plate. Maitland hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 fastball from Salt Lake City hurler Shawn Clark. It was Maitland's 11th double of the year.
"Awesome outing. Arthur was on top of them all night long," said Sacramento manager RR Zayx.
