The Sacramento Ironhorse weathered an outstanding game by Reno left fielder Manuel Garza to topple the Silver Sox, 7-5. Garza went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Sacramento reliever Luis Rivera picked up the win, while Damon Cox took the loss for Reno. David Williams recorded the save, his 13th.
Bob McBride hit a run-scoring triple off Damon Cox in the top of the seventh, which put the Ironhorse in front, 6-5. McBride had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 5.
"I like our moxie," said Ironhorse manager RR Zayx.
Sacramento has won 3 straight, while Reno has lost 3 in a row.
