Dallas and Seattle got after it at Burnett Field.
Thanks in large part to second baseman Jeff Dunbar, the Dallas Eagles beat the Seattle Rainiers, 8-6. Dunbar went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Morris Ellem was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Gabriel Trujillo.
Had Jorge Vázquez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Vázquez hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Eagles.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Dallas manager Cameron J.
With this game in the books, Dallas is 33-32, Seattle 42-21.
