The Sacramento Ironhorse faced a tough opponent in Hollywood pitcher Cris Machado, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ironhorse Stadium by a final score of 1-0. Machado went 7.2 innings and allowed no runs. Sacramento reliever Scotty Hudson picked up the win, raising his record to 5-4. Bill O'Dorrian was tagged with the loss. Sacramento raised its record to 36-36 with the win.

The decisive blow was delivered by Alan Maitland in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 31-year old right-handed pitcher Bill O'Dorrian to win the game for Sacramento. The home crowd went nuts.

"It was bedlam at the end," Maitland said.
