Salt Lake City starter Matt Cook pitched well against the Las Vegas Strip at Derks Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-0. At 36-35, the Locusts claim 4th place in the Pioneer League North.

The Locusts got a big at-bat from right fielder Fernando Gimarey. For the game, Gimarey was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Salt Lake City a 2-0 lead.
