Grizzlies Advance to League Championship Series
|
It's a sweet sweep for the Denver Grizzlies and they have won the Wild Card Series. The Salt Lake City Locusts were not able to keep pace with the Grizzlies and dropped the series in short order, losing, 6-3, in the deciding game.
"This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Salt Lake City manager Nate McGinty.
It's now on to the League Championship Series for Denver after their 4-0 series win.
Leading the way for the winners was center fielder Jon Hunt, who was named MVP. For the series, Hunt hit .625 with a .625 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Denver Grizzlies don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Kansas City Jacks - Houston Lone Stars series. Houston leads the series 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
