The Phoenix Fireballs did just enough to sneak past the Reno Silver Sox, 8-7, at Pyro Center. Phoenix left fielder Kevin Lyons, in particular, had a standout performance. Phoenix reliever Alex Battle was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Arturo Avilés. Phoenix has now won 5 games in a row.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Lyons hit a cutter from Arturo Avilés for a run-scoring double. The Fireballs, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Lyons said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
