Lone Stars Collect 9-7 Win Over Yetis
The Houston Lone Stars and Homer Yetis completed their game despite the inclement weather.

The Houston Lone Stars besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Homer left fielder Jorge García by beating the Yetis, 9-7, at Bombers Ballpark. García slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win belonged to George Simms in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Edwin Miller took the loss for Homer.

Houston used the timely hitting of Howard Collins to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Lone Stars on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Homer manager Drew Johnson.

The first-place Lone Stars improved to 51-28.
