Portland Loss Spoils Terrific Game by Lott
Despite a great performance by Portland right fielder Ed Lott, the Seattle Rainiers defeated the Beavers by the score of 8-7 at Multnomah Stadium. Lott was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Broderick LeBlanc picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 4 in 6 innings. The 5th-place Rainiers are now 38-42, the Beavers 43-38.

Seattle used the hitting of Emílio García to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rainiers on top, 8-3. For the game, García had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
