The Dallas Eagles had to overcome a fine effort from New Orleans pitcher Pedro Hardy to win, 5-4, at Higgins Park. Hardy went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Dallas reliever Ray Gui picked up the win, while Cristián Cortéz took the loss for New Orleans. The Eagles improved their record to 32-50 by beating New Orleans.

Eric Ford came through with a big-time hit for Dallas. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Ford told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
