Al Alexander did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Houston Lone Stars from being beaten, 6-5, to the Reno Silver Sox at Alamo Park. Alexander went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up his 13th save was two-time All-Star Arturo Avilés. Reno's winning streak has reached 4 games.

Reno pitcher David Bright contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Silver Sox ahead, 3-1.
