Millers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Strip
The Minneapolis Millers racked up a win at Banditos Ballpark, bumping off the Las Vegas Strip, 9-5, in 11 innings. Darwin McCoy, who started for Minneapolis, pitched effectively for his team. Greg Smith claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-0. With the win, Minneapolis elevates its record to 4-5.

Minneapolis took advantage of an error in the top of the 11th inning. The game was tied, 5-5, when José Santana hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Millers in front, 6-5.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Santana.
