The Denver Grizzlies eked out a 3-2 win versus the Homer Yetis at Bombers Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Manuel Romero. He was terrific. The winner was Romero. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Edwin Miller. The first-place Grizzlies, at 58-32, now lead their division by 6½ games.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Brian Carter? The two-time All-Star Carter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Denver up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Carter told the Denver News.
