Homer parlayed a decent outing from starter Orlando García into a solid win over the Phoenix Fireballs. The final score was 8-5. García yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 10. His record improves to 11-5. Picking up the save was Roy Roberts. He's now 20 for 23 in save chances.
Homer shortstop Ricardo Rivas contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 15th hit of the season and put the Yetis ahead, 3-0.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Rivas. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
The Yetis saw their win-loss record go to 39-55. At the same time, the Fireballs fell to 52-43.
