The Las Vegas Strip got a marvelous performance from pitcher Pedro González. The right-hander kept the Denver offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Las Vegas victory at Banditos Ballpark. Charles Chandler closed it out for his 12th save. The Strip raised their record to 27-73.
The Strip got a big at-bat from third baseman Jay Hill. For the game, Hill was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 29th double of the season gave Las Vegas a 4-2 lead.
Said losing manager Chris Needham: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
