Silver Sox Hand Millers 3-2 Loss
|
The Reno Silver Sox and Minneapolis Millers played an entertaining game for Nicollet Park patrons.
In a low-scoring affair between the Reno Silver Sox and the Minneapolis Millers, pitcher Ed Beck was the difference between victory and defeat. The Reno left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Silver Sox win. With the win, Reno upped its record to 53-50.
Reno took a 3-1 lead on Jesús Salcido's 11th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Salcido hit in the top of the seventh, left Minneapolis pitcher Darwin McCoy visibly frustrated.
Salcido said his team "played with a purpose."
