The Minneapolis Millers beat the Reno Silver Sox by a score of 6-3. Minneapolis left fielder Campbell Broomhead deserved the lion's share of the credit. Broomhead went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Millers. Bob Coleman picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Eddy Aguirre suffered the loss. The 5th-place Millers lifted their record to 48-56.

With Minneapolis leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Broomhead hit a knuckle curve from Eddy Aguirre for a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Millers ahead, 6-2.

"That's a solid team effort right there," said Broomhead. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
