Behind a solid performance from second baseman Kazuyoshi Kichida, the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Minneapolis Millers, 9-2. Kichida was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Pelicans. Sergio Estrada got the win, improving to 10-3. He worked 8.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. New Orleans used a clutch at-bat from Scott Peck to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Pelicans ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
