Davis Stars for Yetis in 9-3 Win
|
The Homer Yetis powered past the Houston Lone Stars, 9-3, at Bombers Ballpark. Ron Davis provided some of the pop. He was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Jack Martin went 6 innings for Homer to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs. He scattered 3 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 6. His record improves to 3-3. The Yetis improved to 43-64.
Shawn Curry had a big grand slam home run for the Yetis in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Homer leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from Joel Bradley, who is tied for 3rd in the PL with a 1.00 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Yetis on top, 7-2.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Davis.
