The Mexico City Aztecs picked up a win at Ballpark of San Jose, taking down the San Jose Owls, 3-2. Starting pitcher Robert Simons was a big reason why. Mexico City occupies last place in the Pacific Coast League North at 48-64.
Mexico City used the timely hitting of Richard Combs to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Aztecs on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"This was a total team effort," said Simons.
