The Oakland Acorns handed the Portland Beavers a loss at Oakland Ball Park. The final score was 7-3. Major production was provided by Ramón Salcido for Oakland. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 3 runs and drove in 2. He also added 1 walk. Cecil Gibson earned the win, while 32-year old right-handed pitcher Robbie McDaniel took the loss for Portland. Wilson Chávez earned the save for Oakland.
Early in the game, Salcido had a 2-run home run for Oakland. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Acorns on top, 2-0.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Salcido.
