Houston Lone Stars starter Joel Bradley turned in a sterling performance against the New Orleans Pelicans, leading his team to a slim, 2-1 win. Rubén Rodríguez earned the save for Houston, his 24th of the year. The Lone Stars now have a record of 65-49.

Houston won the game in part because of Israel González. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Lone Stars ahead, 2-0. For the game, González had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Day Breaker.
